The weather was gloriously sunny (is it seriously winter right now?). We'd planned to spend the night but many of the lodging facilities we called weren't convenient for families with 6-year-olds and not many had rooms waiting for spur-of-the-moment travelers like us anyway so we decided to head back home after a peaceful, awe-inspiring and therapeutical two hours.
Sorry to hear of your house woes, Suji. Your lovely photos of Big Sur bring back memories--we visited there while our "stuff" was on the truck moving back East. We took a week and went down to Monterey (stayed in Doris Day's dog-friendly hotel) and did the tourist thing. Stopped in Big Sur for lunch on the way down or back--restaraunt on a precipice with gorgeous views!
