Shows about inspiring teaching methods and inspirational teachers affect me very deeply.
I'm not usually one to recommend a Bollywood flick. But Taare Zameen Par (alternatively titled Like Stars on Earth) is an exception. Apart from just a tad of corniness, it rates as one of my most favorite movies. And it features one of my favorite Bollowood actors (Aamir Khan). The kiddo and I watched it last night and were both very much moved.

ReplyDeleteI hope you'll like it Christina! You know, when I was about 15 or 16, I had a school buddy who was just dotty about Aamir. I'd tease her silly and roll my eyes at her infatuation...he looked really corny then...all floppy hair and 80's style dressing. Look at him now! He has such pure talent. ReplyDeleteOh and I must add...the young man who plays Ishaan in the movie just blows me away...it's wonderful that he was allowed to let his talent shine in the movie without it being all about the grown up actors.
