When Life Hands You Kumquats...

Rejoice!

We harvested our first batch of the little oval fruit today from our dwarf kumquat tree, planted in late spring. I'm not one to showcase beautiful photos of fruits and flowers like some of my very green-thumbed blogging friends (ahem...you know who you are) because I really am quite hopeless in the garden...but I was filled with so much excitement today when we picked these beauties. They tipped the scale at just about 3/4lb. I don't know if we will eat these...I think I'll just well, erm, err, display them till they turn brown or something.

  1. Display? Display? You MUST eat them, Suji! Kumquats are wonderful: tart and sweet at the same time.

    Nifty scale, too!

  2. But I feel an almost maternal affection towards them, Sheila...sniff...:P
