Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec
Jane Avril, 1899
Jane Avril, 1899
He only recorded two observations this week:
"She's wearing a fancy hat."
"She's bending away from the snake on her costume."
Something I've noticed: he's beginning to avoid copying my vocabulary suggestions. For example, I suggested "twisting away" and he chose "bending away" instead. I'm quite happy that he is asserting some independence here.
A biography of the artist here.
And who was Jane Avril? See here.
"She's wearing a fancy hat"
ReplyDeleteThat is so very funny. I don't know why: perhaps the understatedness of it all. Cute.
Sigh...yes, very very understated :) You should see Week 23's picture study observations! But I love doing these with him...I love trying to guess what he's going to say and he almost always says something unexpected.
